Champions on the Mat: Harvard Wrestling Dominates in an Unforgettable 2022-23 Season
After months characterized by podium wins, major upsets, and long-awaited results, Harvard wrestling has wrapped up a remarkable 2022-23 season. The season took place across five winter months, opening in November with the Journeymen Collegiate Classic in Bethlehem, Pa., and culminating in mid-March with the NCAA Championships in Tulsa, Okla.
Jack-in-the-Box
First-year Jack Crook secured a 7-2 decision in Harvard's Senior Night on Feb. 17 at the Malkin Athletic Center. Crook was an instrumental team member for the Crimson this year in the 149- and 157-pound weight classes, fastening many victories.
A Tarantino Movie
Junior Leo Tarantino locked in a major decision at 184 lbs in Harvard's Feb. 17 match against Brown. The Crimson went on to win the match 32-10.
Love That Dirty Water
The Harvard women's ice hockey team lines up at its 2023 Frozen Fenway contest against Quinnipiac in early January. The Crimson was one of many Boston-area teams who competed in the historic park that hosted the NHL's Winter Classic.
Harvard Women's Ice Hockey Uses Strong Winter Break to Remain Competitive in ECAC
After a month-long pause for winter break, Harvard’s women’s ice hockey team returned to campus seeking to refocus and breathe new life into a season that has not gone it's way thus far. Although the Crimson’s results in the win column were up-and-down, its performance on the ice was remarkably improved.

Harvard Men’s Basketball Posts 3-3 Record to Kick Off Conference Play
Harvard men’s basketball (12-8, 3-3 Ivy) knows the difference a single possession can make. The start of the 2022-23 Ivy League season has demonstrated that the margins are as fine as ever — four of the six games the Crimson has played against teams in the Ivy have been decided in the dying moments of the second half.

Senior point guard Idan Tretout dribbles toward the net past Cornell's junior guard Chris Manon. Tretout holds second place for the number of points on the team, averaging 8.1 points per game.

Junior forward Kristin Della Rovere skates through traffic in an Oct. 30 overtime loss to Colgate. In the Jan. 14 win over Brown, she scored a point in her 12th straight match, the longest streak by a Crimson skater since 2012-13.
Crimson Resume 2021-22 Campaign With 3-2 Record Over Winter Break
As classes wrapped up and campus grew quieter, the postseason push for the No. 9/9 Harvard women’s ice hockey team heated up. Winter break play was filled with highs and lows for the Crimson. The Crimson (12-5, 9-3 ECAC) dropped its first two games of the break to Minnesota-Duluth (13-7, 10-6 WCHA). After a 13 day intermission, Harvard regrouped with wins over conference foes Brown (2-14-2, 2-8-1 ECAC), Yale (12-4-1, 6-3-1), and Dartmouth (8-12, 2-11).

While many winter sports had their seasons abruptly cut short in early March due to the evacuation of campus and NCAA cancellations in response to the novel coronavirus outbreak, the 2019-2020 winter athletic season was nonetheless a source of energetic competition for Harvard Athletics. Men's Hockey 2017-2018 Season Recap
“The season was basically characterized by learning curves,” said tri-captain forward Jake Horton. “It gave a lot of guys...that didn’t necessarily get those experiences over the past few years...the experience that they’re going to need to be great [next] season.”
